Anand Deverakonda and Shivathmika Rajasekhar’s debut film “Dorasaani” received mixed reviews from the critics.
While the critics praised its authentic production design, the milieu, and its music, they were of the unanimous opinion that the film’s storyline is oft-repeated one.
Critics praised Shivathmika’s promising debut and its music in particular. But team “Dorasaaani” is miffed with the reviews.
At a press meet, the movie’s producer said they were pained by some reviews. Despite the not-so-encouraging ratings, people have lapped it up and collections paint a different picture, they said.
Reviews are killing the business and the enthusiasm of the makers, producer Madhura Reddy alleged.
The makers say they had produced the film after doing a lot of research about Gadi’s culture. But critics say that Telangana had already been out of feudalistic set up in ’70s.
Meanwhile, Vijay Deverakonda praised the film saying he loved it watching. He also appreciated his brother who made debut as lead actor and had reseeded special appreciation for Shivathmika’s performance.
