Eggs, pulihora for stranded migrant workers!

After facing initial criticism for its goof-up in rescuing the migrant workers from the state returning to their villages due to lockdown, the Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy government is going all out to keep them comfortable and healthy in the isolation camps set up at the function halls and hotels on the inter-state borders.

On Thursday, the state government decided to extend “Jagananna Gorumudda” scheme, presently being implemented for school students as part of mid-day meals scheme, even to the migrant labourers held up in isolation camps.

Based on the direction of the chief minister, the district authorities have started following the ‘Gorumudda’ menu to ensure that they stay healthy with a continuous supply of all possible nutrients.

The migrant workers are now being provided with boiled eggs, egg curry, chickpeas, tomato dal, asparagus, pulihora, vegetable pulao, aloo kurma, and kichidi depending on the day of the week apart from rice and other constants.
