Boom and Tollywood move on to upcoming films, forgetting what has released so far. And the trend is now going towards films like Jersey, Majili, and others. Have we missed out any interesting films? We might have not missed, but Ram Gopal Varma missed it out.
They say ‘strike the iron when it is hot’ and Varma is a better example when it comes to using this adage quite skillfully. But this time, he failed to treat the audiences with Lakshmi’s NTR when the iron is hot. At a time when he released the trailer of his film in connection with Nandamuri Balakrishna’s NTR biopics, there was huge hype going around his Lakshmi’s NTR. But after those films released and failed to shine, even Varma’s film lost the attention.
Better what could have Varma done is that he could have timed his film’s release with that of Balayya’s movies. If both NTR’s movies are in theatres around the same time, then Lakshmi’s NTR would have got good openings. But after NTR Mahanayakudu disappointed big time, no doubt, people will not be in a mood to watch another film on the legendary personality, no matter if you sell it as a real truth or something unseen.
Though March 22nd is the fresh date fixed for Lakhsmi’s NTR release, it looks like Election Code is much likely to come in place and that might defer the release further.
