Etela Rajender announces that TIMS is all set to treat COVID-19 patients

Health Minister Etela Rajender said the government’s TIMS (Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences) hospital in Gachibowli is now all set to treat the COVID-19 patients. The minister visited the hospital with few officials at the TIMS hospital during the completion process. He said that the Gachibowli hospital is equipped with the most advanced facilities to treat the patients and outpatient services have been well organised. The infrastructure, medical equipment and other latest technologies are of high end when compared to other corporate hospitals, he added.

“TIMS Gachibowli is ready with all latest technologies. Doctors are going to be available in the same manner as Chandigarh’s PG college was done. There are 1224 beds available in TIMS whereas 1000 beds have oxygen facility and 50 have ventilator facilities. 15 floors are ready. We would recruit staff in a couple of days”, he stated.

Speaking to the media, the minister said that the developments in health sector are happening at brisk pace and they were able to achieve many improvements within a stipulated time. Etela Rajender also addressed about the issue happening in Gandhi Hospital. He told that Gandhi hospital assures safety and well being for more than thousands of people. Although there was a difficulty in the medical staff provision, many of the members have been relentlessly and dedicatedly working to cure the Covid-19 patients.

He rubbished the rumours speculating from social media that ‘the hospital do not care for patients’. He further hinted to not pay heed of such allegations as it would jeopardise the work morale of doctors and thereby damage the trust patients have. The minister suggested to opt for TIMS rather than shelling out money on private hospitals.
