Vijay Deverakonda’s ‘Fighter’ has been stalled since the imposition of lockdown. The unit shifted the base from Mumbai to Hyderabad and planned to resume shoot here and a special boxing enclosure set was erected at Ramoji Film City.
Initially, Puri Jagannadh and Vijay Deverakonda had planned to shoot for the film from the month of August in Hyderabad with very limited crew. But the consistent spike in number of Covid-19 cases forced them to take a step back.
Telangana, and especially GHMC area has been witnessing an upward trend in number of fresh Covid-19 cases and with this in mind, Fighter unit decided to cancel their plans. They are prioritising the safety of cast and crew above all and rightly so.
Puri Jagannadh and Vijay Deverakonda are in no rush for now and are willing to wait till favorable conditions emerge to resume shoot. They have conveyed their intentions to Karan Johar and he obliged to the same.
Around 50% of Fighter shoot has been wrapped up till now and given Puri’s incredible work rate, it would not take him too long to complete shoot once it resumes. It is known that Ananya Panday is romancing Vijay Deverakonda in the sports based action entertainer.
