It looks like the YSRCP is hell-bent on demolishing former AP CM Nara Chandrababu Naidu’s official residence at the allegedly illegal Lingamaneni Guest House along the Karakatta in Undavalli.
Several leaders of the ruling government are on an all-round attack on the TDP chief, and the increase of the flood water in the Krishna River is only helping them corner Babu even more.
Earlier today, Mangalagiri MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy visited the submerged areas in Karakatta. In a media interaction afterwards, Alla said, “We have already sent notices to Chandrababu to vacate the guest house so we could proceed with the demolition.” Alla mockingly said that Chandrababu and his family had run away to Hyderabad for safety.
On the other hand, AP Chief Whip Gadikota Srikanth Reddy alleged that the Lingamaneni Guest House is a standing example of how Chandrababu’s tenure as a CM was full of corruption.
“The guest house was built by flouting all the safety norms. We have been telling that there is a danger that the water level will rise up to 22.6 feet, while the guest house is at 19 feet,” Srikanth Reddy said.
So far, 70 gates of the Prakasam Barrage have been lifted to discharge more than 1.50 lakh cusecs of water to Krishna delta and another 4.41 lakh cusecs from the Pulichinthala Dam upstream into the sea. Irrigation officials say that the guest house will submerge fully if the floods continue for a few more days.
Meanwhile, Chandrababu’s convoy has been shifted to the Happy Resort in Mangalagiri. On the other hand, stone crush and sandbags are used to stop the flood water from entering the Lingamaneni Guest House.
