Former CS of United AP SV Prasad dies of Coronavirus

Former Chief Secretary of united Andhra Pradesh SV Prasad died of Coronavirus on Tuesday. He breathed his last while undergoing treatment in a private hospital in Hyderabad.

As per reports, Prasad fell prey to the virus for the third time and succumbed to it. Currently, his wife and children are also undergoing treatment for Covid at a private hospital.

Prasad, a 1975-batch IAS officer, holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. He was promoted to Chief Secretary when K Rosaiah was Chief Minister of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh in 2010. He served as the first vigilance commissioner of the state after bifurcation.

He has the highest credentials of successfully working with four Chief Ministers, i.e. NT Rama Rao, K.Vijayabaskar Reddy, N.Janardhan Reddy and had worked for about 8 years as Secretary/Prl. Secretary under N Chandrababu Naidu.
