Former Deputy Speaker Feels Cornered In Her Own Constituency

Former deputy speaker and senior MLA from Medak Padma Devender Reddy is going through a rough patch in her political career. Now she has no position in the government. Despite her best efforts, she couldn’t become a minister. Now, she is actually facing trouble from within her own party and within her constituency. Some TRS leaders from Medak are out to damage her image in the constituency

Padma Devender Reddy today is largely confined to her constituency of Medak. She has been touring the constituency and is organising all the programmes that the party leadership is asking her to do. But, she is facing problems within the party.

One leader from her constituency has now turned against her and has started organising parallel programmes in the party. He is also trying to wean away her supporters from her. He is also trying to project herself as the candidate for the next election. Padma Devender Reddy, who initially ignored these attempts, has now taken the issue to the notice of the party leadership. She pointed out that though the high command has mandated that every party activity will have to be under the supervision and overall monitorship of the sitting MLA, the local leaders in Medak were ignoring. Whether the high command will take action against these elements remains to be seen.
