Former minister and TDP senior leader Devineni Umamaheswara Rao has been granted bail on Wednesday by the state high court. He was arrested in alleged rioting and attack on the police case and was booked under SC, ST atrocity and various sections.
Devineni Uma has approached the high court pleading that he has been charged with false cases. The court heard the case on Tuesday. The High Court on Wednesday issued directions granting bail in this regard.
The advocate for Uma argued that the TDP leader was implicated in a fabricated case with a political vendetta. He said that the SC and ST atrocity case was filed against him on purpose.
The Former Minister and 17 other TDP leaders were arrested by Krishna district’s G Kondur police when they reached G Konduru village to question illegal mining in Kondapalli forest region. They were booked under Section 307 IPC (Attempt to murder), SC and ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989, Rioting, Criminal Conspiracy and other charges.
