Ganta Spoils TDP Plans On Vizag Steel Plant

This bombshell of a revelation could not have come at a worse time for the beleaguered Telugu Desam Party. Renegade MLA Ganta Srinivasa Rao, who resigned his post of MLA in protest against the move to privatise the Vizag Steel Plant.

The divestment plan of the VSP has made the political parties to take the agitational mode. The YSRCP, Congress and the Left parties have launched an agitation. The YCP is leading this agitation. Needless to say the TDP is not part of this agitation and has organised its own agitation. The TDP is trying to blame the YSRCP for bartering away the interest of the state. It is arguing that the YSRCP was part of the whole plan to privatise the steel plant. Chandrababu himself went all the way to Vizag an.d spooke to the party workers. He wanted them to target YS Jagan and the YSRCP. Instead of attacking the Central government, he attacked the YSRCP

It is exactly at this time that Ganta has dropped a bomb-shell, he said that the Telugu Desam had played a major role in the move to privatise. He said that the TDP too has a hand in the move to privatise. He said that the TDP was part of the deliberations to hand over VSP to Posco company. TDP leaders were present at a meeting held in 2018 under the aegis of the Ministery of Steel. In fact, the YSRCP government has only okayed the same plan in October 2019, after he assumed power.

With Ganta Srinivasa Rao raising this issue, the TDP is now finding itself on a sticky wicket. It has not yet issued a clarification on the issue. But, it has also not denied the claim of Ganta Srinivasa Rao. Will the TDP come clean on the issue.
