Ganta Srinivasa Rao wants to hit two birds with one shot

Former minister and maverick TDP MLA from Bheemili Ganta Srinivasa Rao is now the man to watch. This former minister has become active again in politics after a three-year hibernation. Ganta is said to be preparing to strike it big this time on the TDP ticket. He is planning to shift to Anakapalli district this time.

According to those close to Ganta, the shifting from Vizag district to Anakapalli district has two-fold objectives. Firstly, he wants to weaken the TDP hold on Anakapalli. In fact, the YSRCP made a clean sweep of the district in the 2019 elections. By pitting himself from either Anakapalee or Yelamanchili or even from Chodavaram, he can defeat the YSRCP.

Secondly, he wants to emerge as a counterfoil to former minister Chintakayala Ayyanna Patrudu in Anakapalli district. Ayyanna is the only TDP leader who is considered a heavyweight in Anakapalli But, he has always opposed Ganta.

So, by fighting and winning from Anakapalle, he would be in a position to challenge his rival Ayyanna Patrudu. Thus, he would be able to take on his internal rival Ayyanna Patrudu and external enemy, the YSRCP, in one stroke.

Sources say that Ganta Srinivasa Rao had earlier won from Anakapalli against a strong leader like Konathala Ramakrishna. He wants to fight against newly-inducted minister Gudivada Amarnath, who represents Anakapalli. He wants to used the faultlines within the YSRCP to his advantage and defeat Gudivada Amarnath.
