Ganta Srinivasa Rao is facing a strange predicament. He has never been so inactive in politics. As someone who has always had butter on his bread, he is finding himself without power for the first ever time in his long political career.
His problem is despite all his attempts, the ruling YSRCP is not letting him into the party. At the same time, the TDP, where he is in currently, does not want him. He has not met the TDP chief in years and there is no call from Chandrababu either. As for YSRCP, minister Avanthi Srinivas and MP Vijaysai Reddy are dead opposed to his entry. So, he is not getting the political gate entry pass into the YSRCP.
These days, his supporters are sending out feelers that the BJP is inviting him into the party. But to join the BJP, he may have to resign his MLA post and there is no guarantee that he would be re-elected on a BJP ticket. So, there is no use going to the BJP. As a result, he is finding himself nowhere in politics. A strange situation indeed for a politician who is known to jump into the party in power very effortlessly and gets plum posts.
