Ganta’s Resignation A Drama?

So, despite the hullabaloo about the privatization of the Vizag steel Plant, MLA Ganta Srinivasa Rao did not resign from the MLA seat. He took care to ensure that the resignation letter will never get accepted. So, he did not resign in the speaker’s format. Now, it turns out that Ganta’s resignation is nothing but a mere drama.

On Thursday, he met assembly speaker Tammineni Sitaram at his residence and pressed for accepting his ‘resignation.’ Both he and the speaker knew that this was for the theatrics. But the speaker played along with his buddy for old-times sake. He later told the media that he knews Ganta very well as both had worked together in TDP and Praja Rajyam. He said Ganta had come to meet him to demand that his resignation be accepted. He said this resignation cannot be accepted as it is not in the Speaker’s format.

Ganta fumbled for words at this and said that he would soon send a resignation in speaker formatHe said he was determined to resign from his position on the issue of Vizag Steel Plant.
