During the times of epidemic, it’s not what the leaders say that matters the post, but it is the way they direct their team to act upon things is what matters. On that note, Telangana Minister KTR and Hyderabad’s very own GHMC are doing a fab job together we must say.
GHMC is the only Municipal Corporation in India that has a Disaster Response Force in place and they are doing great during Covid-19 crisis. During the lockdown times, many migrants workers and others are rendered without jobs and food as well. But these teams are said to be providing them food packets and other essentials, by collecting them from donors. Homeless people are being shifted to temporary shelters by the same teams.
At the same time, the DRF is spraying disinfectants across the city and has completed the first round of spraying across the city already, and right now moving into interior regions to finish the job in the next 15 days. Also, they have quarantined the areas where people tested positive in Hyderabad and keeping the total vehicular/human movement in those areas off.
In the wake of a health crisis crippling the whole of the world, definitely this is an astonishing job put up by GHMC and deserves a pat on the back. And the only way we could pay back all their hard work is by staying home and staying safe.
