Good news to techies: Ban on H-1B visa lifted

In June this year, Donald Trump-led government imposed a temporary ban on H-1B visas. This drew a negative response from all quarters as it would be hard for manufacturers to fill up crucial job positions if this visa restriction is in place.

Today, District Judge Jeffrey White of Northern California ordered the concerned authorities to lift the ban on H1-B visas. The order read that the President exceeded his constitutional authority.

The President says he passed the executive order to protect jobs for its domestic work force.

Numerous IT firms openly opposed Trump’s executive order, saying it would prevent them from employing skilled work force. Manufacturers challenged the visa ban in court and a relevant order was passed today.

National Association of Manufacturers, US Chamber of Commerce, National Retail Federation, and TechNet filed a lawsuit against the department of commerce and department of homeland security, regarding visa restrictions.
