Macho hero Gopichand has all the qualities to become a star in Tollywood. He has the physique, looks and good acting skills too. He made a name for himself as a villain in movies like ‘Jayam’, ‘Varsham’ and ‘Nijam’ before becoming a hero. He delivered good hits and did a few experimental movies with unique concepts as well. But the hero is unable to find a hit in the last couple of years.
None of his movies worked out at the box office after 2015 and he hoped to change it with ‘Rama Banam’. Despite the hit combination, the early reviews are not at all encouraging. His market value has taken a severe beating over the past few years but he is able to get decent offers time and again. Sources say that Gopichand lined up three interesting projects.
He okayed a film with debut director Harsha and KK Radha Mohan will be producing it. The official announcement is expected to arrive soon. Also, he is giving a chance to Sreenu Vaitla and the script work is going on right now. As we know, Vaitla made a lot of memorable movies with star heroes in the past but he is completely out of form these days. His ‘Aagadu’, ‘Bruce Lee’, ‘Mister’ and ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’ were huge disasters. There is a talk that a movie with director Teja is also on the cards. Teja introduced him as a villain to everyone but Gopichand did not work with him as a hero. The final discussions are reportedly happening.
With three interesting projects in his hands, it is to be seen if Gopichand gets his much-required hit from this list or not.
