The Telangana government continues to ignore the situation of Coronavirus in the state, and in Hyderabad, despite more number of people being infected on a daily basis. Chief Minister KCR has failed to comment on the situation even once, and is now even missing in action.
Thankfully, Governor of the state, Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan has stepped into action, and conducted meetings with several people, concerning the situation of Coronavirus in the state. After receiving several complaints on social media, over how the government is unbothered by how Coronavirus is affecting the state, the governor met with the Telangana Chief Secretary and Health department Principal Secretary at Raj Bhavan, on Tuesday evening. The meeting was initially scheduled to convene on Monday morning, but the CS had not attended the meeting, due to which it had to be postponed.
Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan also met with the management of private hospitals, and spoke to them at length about the need of being transparent to patients at this time. She asked them to let the family of the patient know the charges of the hospital admitting them, as everyone has the right to know that, especially in this situation. She also requested the management to show humanity in the case of a few cases.
The governor also said that the testing duration, and the duration required to announce the test results to the concerned individuals should come down by a lot, as it is creating a sense of panic in everyone. She also said that government and private hospitals should announce the number of beds they have publicly, and give priority to admitting people with severe conditions of the virus, while making sure that those suffering from mild conditions are properly monitored during their home isolation.
Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan has also requested for the procuring and maintenance of a plasma bank as well, so that it would be very useful for treating those who are in critical conditions.
On the other hand, Chief Minister KCR is nowhere to be seen and still hasn’t responded to the situation of Coronavirus. However, he has given a green signal to the construction of a more Vastu oriented Secretariat, by demolishing the old one.
The image of CM KCR has taken a huge blow during this crisis of Coronavirus, and with his continued silence on the matter, things are only getting worse. It is time the Chief Minister actually responds to the situation.
