The Honorable President of India Ram Nath Kovind on Tuesday announced the reshuffling of Governors for eight states. While a few Governors were newly appointed, a few of them were sent to other states.
Governors from Telugu land Bandaru Dattatreya and Kambhampati Hari Babu were announced as Governors for Haryana and Mizoram respectively. Dattatreya is the current Himachal Pradesh.
On the other hand, former Visakhapatnam Parliamentarian Kambhampati Hari Babu has been named the Mizoram Governor. The serving Governor of Mizoram PS Sreedharan Pillai will serve as the Goa Governor.
Looking at the other Governors, Union Minister Thaawarchand Gehlot was appointed as the Governor of the Karnataka state. Haryana Governor Satyadev Narayan Arya was transferred to Tripura, while the serving Tripura Governor Ramesh Bias was transferred to Jharkhand.
On the other hand, Mangubhai Chhaganbhai Patel has been appointed as the Governor of Madhya Pradesh, while Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar is appointed as the Governor of Himachal Pradesh.
The reshuffle of Governors was announced ahead of the possible expansion of Narendra Modi’s Union Cabinet. The cabinet is likely to be expanded in July this year as per the reports.
