Brazilian football star Pele who is credited as the greatest football player of all time passed away at the age of 82. His family members shared the sad news on social media. The sporting world was hit by a big shock with the legendary player passing away.

The Brazilian Football star had an inspiring journey. Having hailed from a poor family he faced many issues when he was young. But that did not stop him from venturing into the sport and creating a rich history and legacy in the sport. His legacy is such that he is regarded as the greatest of all time.

The history he has in making goals in various games and tournaments made him even enter the prestigious Guinness Book Of World Records. Pele played as many as 1363 games in his illustrious career and scored 1279 goals which is a massive record.

His mastery in the game made him attain a Legendary status and enjoy a massive fan following. Famous personalities across the fields see him as an inspiration. We can surely say that no other player can beat him or come close to him.

He also set many records in the game during his career. He was part of the Brazilian Football team which lifted the World Cup in 1958, 1962, and 1970 editions of the game. In 1958 Pele was awarded the Best Young Player award in the FIFA World Cup.

In the 1970 edition of the game, Pele was awarded the FIFA World Cup Golden Ball (Best Player) award. After his retirement, Pele was awarded the Football Player of the Century award and was named One of the 100 Most Important People of the 20th Century and the Greatest Player of the 20th Century.
