Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl, starring Janhvi Kapoor in the lead role is available for streaming on Netflix. The film is a biopic of Gunjan Saxena, the first ever female pilot in the Indian Air Force.
Yesterday, the Indian Air Force objected Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl over the presentation of gender inequality in the armed forces.
Speaking about the same, Gunjan Saxena said she had the support of officers, supervisors and commanding officers at IAF.
Gunjan further added that the makers of the film might have exaggerated certain aspects to make it commercially viable.
“I faced no gender bias during my time in the Indian Air Force,” she said.
The Indian Air Force has written a letter to the censor board over the alleged portrayal of gender bias in Gunjan Saxena: The Girl. The makers of the film are yet to respond to the same.
