Harbhajan Cries Foul On Missing Out Khel Ratna Award

Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh expressed his unhappiness on missing out Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award which is the highest sporting honour. Harbhajan posted a special video in his official YouTube channel and listed out the reasons for missing the award.

The 39 years old off spinner blamed the Amarender Singh lead Punjab government for delaying the process. “On March 20th, I have sent the application form but the Punjab sports ministry responded late. In the next 15 days they were supposed to send my application to the government of India but they did not,” said Harbhajan and added that he got to know that his application was declined from the media due to the papers arriving late.

Harbhajan also requested the Sports Minister of the Punjab Government to start an inquiry into the matter and hoped that the concerned minister will definitely act on this. Lastly he added that awards are an encouragement for sports persons and such incidents dent the spirit in them.

The Veteran Indian spinner last played for India in 2015.
