Harbhajan Singh Signs Nomination Papers for Rajya Sabha

India’s great Sachin Tendulkar was sent to the Rajya Sabha as a nominated candidate, adding a feather in his cap. Now his former teammate will join him to become another cricketer who will be sent to the Upper House of Parliament, the Rajya Sabha.

World Cup-winning player Harbhajan Singh was nominated to Rajya Sabha by the Aam Aadmi Party, which had put up a stunning show in the recent general elections in Punjab, in which the Delhi-based party had swept the elections.

Harbhajan Singh who is popular with the name Bhajji is among the four candidates who were nominated to Rajya Sabha. The party took to the microblogging site Twitter and shared the news of Bhajji signing the nomination papers.

Besides Harbhajan Singh, IIT professor Sandeep Pathak, educationist Ashok Kumar Mittal, and Delhi MLA Raghav Chadha were nominated by the Aam Aadmi Party from the state.

Over the past few months, it has been reported that Harbhajan Singh might foray into the polls. Making the media reports true, Bhajji is all set to enter the Upper House.

Harbhajan Singh had bid goodbye to the game as one of the leading wicket-takers. He had announced his retirement from the international game in 2021. Considering his contributions to the game, Harbhajan Singh was honoured with Padma Shri.
