Nothing is good between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana these days. Though the water controversy was put to rest for a few days by both the Telus speaking states, the new electricity policy by the center took its turn to draw the dividend between the two.
This is all about Telangana state Finance Minister, TRS party’s most prominent leader Harish Rao revealing Jagan’s secret without giving any second thought of AP CM’s reputation.
The issue of arranging meters for agricultural electricity connections is causing a stir in Andhra Pradesh. Farmers are dissatisfied with the government’s decision.
The process has not started yet and there is propaganda that if the process of arranging connection meters starts, the farmers will destroy the meters everywhere.
Political parties have already called for this and now Harish Rao explains why Jagan is more inclined towards Jagan’s decision. However, the government says meters are needed to provide better electricity to farmers for reforms.
But opposition cries a foul in this decision taken by Jagan to back up center. They say that the real thing is that FRBM restrictions will be relaxed to AP and more money can be borrowed by Jagan with this.
“Of course, the AP government is not doing this because they can acquire a large amount of debt. It is just a matter of Rs. 4,000 crores that made the AP government bringing meters of hardship to the farmers,” Telangana Finance Minister Harish Rao said this openly.
The Center has given Rs 2,500 crore to Telangana but we rejected the thing for the sake of farmers but the Centre has agreed to pay Rs 4,000 crore to the AP and Jagan immediately agreed to act as the center wants.
Compared to Telangana, AP is a slightly larger state so it can be expected that the Center will give an additional fifteen hundred crore rupees more to AP. Many farmers feel like why Jagan is showing utmost interest in the arrangement of connection meters in AP while the Telangana government successfully negotiated the proposal from the center.
On the other side, the TRS says that the best interests of the state farmers are their primary concern and they will no let any meters be arranged in the state at any cost. If the words said by Harish Rao about Jagan are true, AP people will confirm that Jagan stoops too low in this issue.
