He Became Overnight Indian Star

In the final of three T20 series with England at Bangalore, India found its another bowling star in a young cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal whose scintillating performance aided Team India to clinch the T20 series. Apparently Chahal made it to headlines overnight, all thanks to his sparking spell that bowled over both England batsmen and Indian fans.

Turning it into his career-best spell, Chahal took 6 wickets and gave away 25 runs in 4 overs, at a much needed point of time in match. To the record, It is only third time in international T20 format where a player grabbed six wickets.

For his match winning performance, Chahal was awarded both ‘Man of the Match’ and ‘Man of the Series’ as well. His magic spell led England to lose 8 wickets for just 8 runs. “It felt good because I’m playing an India match in Bangalore for the first time and it always feels like home.” Chahal speaks about his play. Attributing his brilliant spell to Mr. Cool MS Dhoni and spin bowler Amit Mishra, Chahal thanked them for continuous support and belief.

“I’ve bowled in the Powerplay before in the IPL, and Virat has confidence in me that I can do that. In the start, I plan that batsmen will want to go for their shots because it’s a small ground, so I have a chance for wickets. I bowl a fuller length, so I have a chance for lbws if they miss the sweep and reverse-sweep,” he also added, “Never dreamed I’d get six wickets.”
