Heavy Drop Indicates Troubling Times For ‘Liger’!

Vijay Deverakonda and dashing director Puri Jagannadh’s much-awaited film ‘Liger’ turned out to be a huge disappointment. The film failed to live up to the expectations and many are terming it as the weakest work of Puri Jagannadh till date. Many are wondering how Vijay was so confident during the promotions, especially with a product like ‘Liger’. Despite the negative talk, the film opened to packed houses because of the ‘Arjun Reddy’ star’s craze and buzz on the film.

The advance bookings were wonderful which made the film get strong collections on its very first day. It made around 4.5 crores on its first day in the Nizam area alone. But sources say that the negative talk had a huge impact on the second day collections. Trade reports suggest that it managed to get only 80 lakhs on the second day in the Nizam area which is quite shocking.

While the weekend may come to the film’s aid, such a massive drop is ringing warning bells in the minds of everyone. The collections during the weekdays are expected to be even less and sources suggest that the film might end up in big losses. The situation is the same in Hindi too and grapvine suggests that Karan Johar who presented the film in North India may lose up to 20 crores.

The film is being trolled heavily and critics are having a field day with this film. We need to wait and see what happens in the coming days. Many are stating that the role of Ananya Pandey is quite irritating and a personality like Mike Tyson is completely wasted. Also, they are showcasing a lot of flaws in this film. Vijay and Puri have already started ‘Jana Gana Mana’ together and we need to wait and see if it goes forward or not.
