In the recently released trailer of Jayam Ravi’s delayed movie “Comali” where he’s seen as a guy who wakes up from a coma after 15 years (loosely based on the English short story Rip Van Winkle), the actor has come up with a funny scene. And that didn’t go well with Superstar Rajnikanth fans who are now fuming on this movie.
Apparently, there is an image of Rajnikanth shown in the film, from his 2016 press appearance, to which Jayam Ravi says, ‘this is thalavia in 1996, why are you saying this is the year 2016?’. Though this could be seen as the filmmakers’ admiration for Rajni, saying that he looks pretty same no matter what his age is, the fans haven’t taken this in positive note.
Fans of Rajni felt that Ravi has insulted Thalaiva big time saying that Rajni looks like an old man all the time. And they started trending the hashtags like #BoytcottComali on social media. Many other prominent filmmakers are also seen condemning this scene, and Kamal Haasan himself added that he can’t allow mockery of Superstar.
Well, there are those critics who say, ‘This is the same superstar who has shied away from contesting in 2019 elections, and still his fans feel that he is the future of Tamilnadu. How?’
