High Court Tells AP Government Not To Breach Ashwini Dutt’s Deal

Popular Tollywood producer Ashwini Dutt has petitioned the Andhra High Court against YSRCP Government on the issue of his Gannavaram lands. The ace producer is seeking compensation for the land he had given as part of the land pooling agreement for the development of the Gannavaram airport.

He had given land during the TDP government tenure and as per the agreement, he should be alloted compensatory land in Amaravati Capital. After YS Jagan came into power, the decentralisation idea comes up and Amaravati is not going to be the only Capital.

As per the current government’s decision, the executive capital will be shifted to Visakhapatnam. If this comes into effect, then the Amaravati lands would not have any value.Incidentally, Ashwini Dutt gave 39 acres, 15 cents of land at Kesarapalli village in Gannavaram mandalam for the Gannavaram airport expansion.

Now, the High court after hearing both sides, told that AP Government should abide by the agreement signed with the producer at the time of land acquisition. The government has asked the court to grant some time to file its counter. However, the court made it clear that the agreements cannot be breached. The next hearing has been postponed to November 17.
