Following Andhra Pradesh elections, TDP Chief N. Chandrababu Naidu seems to be a busy man. Apparently, there is a lot of demand for him from his regional allies to campaign for them in their respective states. This time, however, there is a considerable change in his campaigning style. Even in the assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh, he departed from his usually dignified way of speaking and provoked sentiment in his own carefree style. His wearable headset mic also became a trend of sorts.
While that seemed restricted to the state, he has picked up another new trait. In the recent campaign for Nikhil Gowda, grandson of Deve Gowda, in Mandya district, Chandrababu spoke in Kannada and then switched to Telugu and English in his speech. Similarly, in a surprise visit to Chennai, he spoke in Tamil and then switched to English, while making an appeal to the voters.
Generally, Prime Minister Narendra Modi follows this style when he is making public speeches during election rallies and meetings. He is seen speaking the local language in his initial address and then switching to Hindi or English. Chandrababu too seems to have taken a leaf out of Modi’s campaign style. While both seem to currently be political rivals, definitely they seem to learn from each other.
And, with changing times, definitely, Chandrababu seems to have come a long way.
