So, it’s a proud feeling, as two of the present generation’s big stars are getting their wax statues erected at Madam Tussauds. While we have Prabhas’ Baahubali look immortalised there, other day Mahesh also gave his measurements to get a wax statue carved.
These two happenings also triggered a sort of fight with Mahesh’s team publicising that their star is the first south Indian actor to get a statue that way. While everyone is thinking its Prabhas who got the first honour, this team promoted that Prabhas’ character called Baahubali got the statue there but not Prabhas himself.
On that note, one gets a doubt why the likes of Megastar Chiranjeevi or Balayya who have completed their 150th and 100th film recently didn’t get any such statue of the erected at Tussauds for their contribution to the film industry but those stars who have done just two dozens of movies getting one. Also if we look a bit back, then the likes of NTR, ANR, Savitri and SV Ranga Rao also deserve statues for their contribution.
That brings us to a discussion if these statues could be erected by approaching the marketing team of Tussauds and paying a certain amount to them. And that too, with Prabhas and Mahesh getting their statues news only during the time of their films’ release is triggering more speculations. Anyway, let us rejoice in the fact that two Telugu actors won this unique honour for now and hope more will win in the coming days.
