All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM), which was restricted to Hyderabad is slowly spreading its wings by contesting the elections in other states.
As part of this, the party is gearing up to run the Uttar Pradesh general elections that will be scheduled to be held next year. Party chief Asaduddin Owaisi announced that, the party will contest in 100 seats and the process of selecting the candidates is underway.
The announcement was made by Mr. Owaisi at his recent media addressing.The elections will be faught as part of Bhagidari Sankalp Morcha alliance, he said.
Earlier, AIMIM had contested the elections in Maharashtra and Bihar and had managed to win four and five Assembly elections respectively.
The Hyderabad based party had also contested the Gujarat, West Bengal and Tamil Nadu polls but failed to create an impact in the polls. We have to wait and see how the party fares in the forthcoming Uttar Pradesh polls.
