‘Hyundai Kona’ – India’s First Fully-Electric SUV Launched

Today in the early hours, Hyundai introduced and drove in its first electric vehicle ‘Kona’ SUV in India at a price of Rs 25.30 lakh. The name Kona derived from the town in the west-coast region of the Big Island of Hawaii. This new electric car is said to offer advanced technology with youthful design, with 452 km/Charge.

The new Kona Electric onboard charger is capable of a 7.2 kW rate of charge and is estimated range at a 452 km/charge. The charging is so rapid that the 80% charge can be achieved in 57 minutes, using the CCS Type II charging port. Moreover, the charging port is located in the front grille area which would give the convenience factor.

Moving further, it also offers digital cluster with supervision, leather ventilated seats, automatic air conditioning, wireless smartphone charging and Smart key with push-button start. It is available with a Warranty for 3 Years and unlimited Kilometres, along with a Warranty for 8 Years and up to 160,000 Kms for its High Voltage Battery.
