The women athletes are making India proud at international level as India is on the verge of getting its second medal at the Tokyo Olympics.
Indian Boxer Lovlina Borgohain had forayed into the semifinals of women’s Welter by crushing China’s opponent Nien-Chin Chen in the quarters.
Keeping India’s hopes of winning the see second medal at the prestigious Tokyo Olympics, Lovlina Borgohain had won the bout by 3:2.
Borgohain had made history by becoming the third Indian boxer to win an Olympic medal. She is the third Indian boxer overall to achive the rare feat. Earlier, Mary Kom and Vijender Singh had won the Olympic medal.
Lovlina will lock horns with Turkey’s Busenaz Surmeneli in the semifinals. She will win a medal for sure but the result of the semis will determine whixh medal she will win.
India clinched first medal at the Olympics with weightlifter Mirabai Chanu winning silver in the category.
