IPL 2019 registers its first hat-trick!

The records are reporting every day in the 2019 Indian Premiere League (IPL). 20 year old Sam Curran who is playing for Kings XI Punjab took three wickets in a row and registered the first hat-trick of the season. This also helped the Punjab team to pull off an incredible win over Delhi Capitals.

The Delhi team won the toss and opted to bowl first. They have restricted Punjab to 166 runs in their innings. Batting second, Delhi started the innings steady. At one point of time they scorecard was 144 runs for the loss of three wickets and everyone thought Delhi will walk away with easy victory. But it was the 19th and 20th overs by Mohammed Shami and Sam Curran that broke Delhi Capitals. Shami bowled the 19th over and took two wickets while Curran wrapped up Delhi’s innings in the final over.

The last seven wickets of Delhi have fallen for just eight runs and that was quite shocking. Post-match presentation, Delhi Capitals captain Shreyas Iyer said he is highly disappointed with the team’s performance. Sam Curran was rewarded the ‘Man of the Match’ for his thumbing performance.
