There are a lot of releases during the Sankranti season but ‘Guntur Karam’ is the biggest of them and it is the only commercial entertainer that caters to everyone. Sources say that industry biggies are trying to pull the release date by one day ahead. Apparently, producer Naga Vamsi is also interested in releasing the film on 11th January and Dil Raju too extended his support for it. With a big star like Mahesh Babu arriving during the festive season, there needs to be a gap between his movie and others in order to maintain a bit of balance.
We have seen how one or two days gap helped both ‘Sarileru Neekevvaru’ and ‘Ala Vaikunthapuramlo’ when they were released at the same time in 2020. This time, ‘Guntur Karam’ has competition from other heroes like Venkatesh, Ravi Teja, Vijay Devarakonda and the superhero film ‘Hanu-Man’. While it is no guarantee that these films will affect a huge project with an immense craze like ‘Guntur Karam’, a mass film needs more time so that the buyers can extract as much money as possible without competition.
Releasing on 11th January gives ‘Guntur Karam’ the advantage of having an extended weekend during the festive season. We need to wait and see what Mahesh and the team decide. The first single by Thaman is expected to come out soon and Naga Vamsi too revealed the same during a recent press meet. The movie is expected to showcase the mass angle of both Trivikram and Mahesh Babu. Sreeleela and Meenakshi Choudhary are the heroines in this film.
