For a while now, we have been hearing that Bollywood superstar Salman Khan will be playing an important cameo role in Chiranjeevi’s Godfather, which happens to be the Telugu remake of Lucifer. It was speculated that Salman Khan will be reprising the role played by Prithviraj Sukumaran in the original, Lucifer. It was heard that Chiranjeevi, who shares a very close rapport with Salman Khan sprang into action and persuaded the latter to come on board for the project. Given his affinity with Chiranjeevi and a reasonably good role in the offing, Salman agreed to sign the project and came on board. When asked if Salman Khan really is a part of Godfather, the director of the project, Mohan Raja came up with inconclusive and cryptic comments. He neither confirmed nor denied Salman Khan’s inclusion in the star cast.
Going into the story, Mohan Raja took part in Chiranjeevi’s birthday special Twitter space session that was organized yesterday, marking the occasion of the latter’s birthday. During this interactive session, Mohan Raja was asked if Salman is acting in the Chiranjeevi starrer. To which, Mohan Raja replied, “It is too early to comment on Salman Khan’s inclusion in the star cast. We will reveal these details about all these developments when the right time comes. Every major update on Godfather will be officially confirmed by the movie unit at the right time,” he said.
Mohan Raja’s diplomatic comment about Salman’s inclusion in Godfather’s cast is leaving the netizens puzzled. Everyone is eager to know if Salman and Chiranjeevi will share the screen space in Godfather. If this does turn to reality, then the canvas of Godfather will increase multi-fold and the expectations on the project will touch the sky. However, we need to wait till the makers of the Chiranjeevi starrer drop an official update on the same. It wouldn’t be fair to build up the expectations already. As of now, Satya Devi, Nayanthara, and Anasuya are confirmed to play important roles in Godfather. The filming commenced recently and Chiranjeevi is taking part in the same. Thaman scores the music for this film.
