The Film industry suffered a big shock with the Pandemic. When the lockdown was lifted, movie lovers supported the industry by watching films in theatres. The theatre industry would have not been the same if movie lovers didn’t watch the film. As a return gift for movie lovers, the Multiplex Association of India (MAI) came up with a piece of good news they can watch films for just ₹75.
The Multiplex Association of India (MAI) came up with an announcement that National Cinema Day celebrations will be celebrated on the 16th of this month and on that day, audiences can watch films at 4000 multiplex screens located in various areas in India.
But the National Cinema Day was postponed by a week. The revised date of the day is now pushed to the 23rd of September. In a press release, the Multiplex Association of India (MAI) said that considering the opinions of the stakeholders the National Film Day was postponed.
Observers say that the Multiplex Association might have taken the decision to not harm the collections of Brahmastra as the Pan-India film ended the dry run of Bollywood films and the Ranbir Kapoor starrer is seeing good collections.
The intention behind celebrating National Cinema Day is to allow moviegoers to watch films in Multiplex theatres at lesser movie ticket prices. By paying just Rs 75, they can watch the films in around 4k Multiplex theatres.
If National Cinema Day is celebrated when Brahmastra is having a good box office run, the collections will be dropped without any doubt. This will let the spirit down and Brahmastra gave the much-needed belief to the Bollywood film industry that audiences are ready to watch the films if they like.
Citing all these factors, the observers say that keeping Brahmastra collections in mind, the Multiplex association might have decided to push the National Cinema Day by a week so that the movie collections will not get affected.
“The Multiplex Association of India (MAI) and Cinemas across India, welcome moviegoers to spend a day at the movies with celebratory admission price of ₹75 to mark National Cinema Day. The National Cinema Day was previously announced to be held on 16th September, however, on request from various ‘stake holders’ and in order to maximise participation, it would now be held on 23rd September,” the Multiplex Association said.
