Samantha Akkineni’s upcoming film “Shaakuntalam”, directed by Gunasekhar, has wrapped its entire shooting part on Tuesday. The film, which is said to be the dream project of the director, has been in the news since its inception.
Gunasekhar took to Twitter to announce the wrap news. “It’s a wrap for #Shaakuntalam! Owing to the extensive preproduction of 1 year we could wrap the shooting part in 5 months- I thank my team @GunaaTeamworks @neelima_guna for making this happen thank you @Samanthaprabhu2 @ActorDevMohan @SVC_official.”
Shakuntalam stars Samantha Akkineni in the titular role of Shakuntala and Dev Mohan as King Dushyant. Allu Arjun’s daughter Allu Arha will be seen as Prince Bharata.
The film is produced by Neelima Guna and Dil Raju under the banner of Gunaa Teamworks and Dil Raju Productions, respectively.
Tipped to be a big budget film, the project has music by Mani Sharma and Cinematography is handled by Sekhar V. Joseph. The film is based on the popular Indian play Shakuntala by Kalidasa.
