The confusion over who would step in Megastar Chiranjeevi’s “Acharya” in an extended guest role has come to an end.
Reliable sources have informed GreatAndhra that Ram Charan will be playing the role.
Though Mahesh Babu has in principle agreed to essay it when director Koratala Siva narrated the script and his role, Chiranjeevi reportedly was against this idea.
Chiranjeevi and Charan don’t want to miss the great opportunity of them coming together on screen in beautifully etched roles.
They are not sure whether another director would come up with such an idea of casting them in clearly written characters.
Koratala’s idea of casting Mahesh Babu has been shot down after toying with the idea for many days.
Ram Charan was the original choice for this role but Koratala approached Mahesh Babu after he came to know that Rajamouli has some reservations about this casting.
Rajamouli wanted another multi-starrer featuring Ram Charan should not come before his ‘RRR’ hits the screens.
Then Koratala went to Mahesh Babu to convince him to essay the role and he got a nod from the superstar. Now, his efforts have gone waste.
Looks like Ram Charan now convinced Rajamouli and is all set to play a key role in his father’s movie. An official statement is expected shortly.
The social drama is directed by Koratala Siva and produced by Ram Charan. Mani Sharma is composing the music.
