Andhra Pradesh government, headed by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, has sought permission to borrow another Rs 27,000 crore by the end of March this fiscal, said the Central government.
Union Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary informed this in Rajya Sabha on Tuesday, to a question raised by Andhra Pradesh member Kanakamedala Ravindra Kumar.
According to the Finance Ministry, CM YS Jagan has appealed for a loan of Rs 27,000 crore in the open market under Article 293 (3) of the Constitution for the year 2021-22. The ministry has clarified that Jagan had made this request during his visit to Delhi in December. He also informed that Jagan has sought to increase the limit for open market borrowing to Rs 42,472 crore for the 2021-22 financial year.
