The situation of the roads in the state of Andhra Pradesh is worrisome, with opposition parties pointing it out every often, and with the Jana Sena Party even taking up a protest against the condition of the roads by posting photos and videos of the roads in the state on social media platforms. The Jana Sena party members even said that they would start laying roads if the government didn’t respond, and Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy has finally responded on the matter today.
Jagan said that he has given the necessary orders to the concerned officials to make sure that all the roads in the state are repaired before the monsoon season arrives next year. He said that while the farmers of the state have been happy that the state is blessed with rains after the YSRCP came to power, the condition of the roads is not pristine. Jagan said that there’s negative propaganda going around about the ruling party’s attitude towards the roads simply because Chandrababu is not the CM.
Furthermore, Jagan is trying to give the people the impression that the roads in the state have been destroyed due to rains, but the fact is that the government hasn’t tried to repair the roads at any point, despite having been in power for 3 years now. The AP government had given out tenders for road construction in the past, but no contractor came forward due to the government’s financial crisis. It is now to be seen if the government will be able to lay roads according to Jagan’s promise.
