Jagan Unhappy With Sucharita?

If reports coming from the YSRCP are to be believed, party president and CM Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy might reshuffle his cabinet in the first week of July, making some changes the portfolios.

According to these reports, Jagan is said to be not very much happy with the performance of home minister Mekathoti Sucharita. Apparently, he felt she has not been acting fast with regard to taking action against some key opposition leaders.

Sources said Jagan also felt that Sucharita is not articulate in conveying a strong message to the detractors of the government.

“The chief minister expects that being a home minister, she has to be very proactive, but unless he gives any directions, she is not acting. Moreover, she has not able to show her mark in the protection of general law and order,” they said.

During the reshuffle, Jagan is likely to replace Sucharita with social welfare minister Pinepe Vishwaroop, a senior and experienced leader. Sucharita might be shifted to some other portfolio.

The elevation of agriculture minister Kanna Babu as deputy chief minister has more or less certain, as Jagan is very much impressed with the way he has been handling any responsibility entrusted on him, especially with regard to bringing normalcy in Visakhapatnam post-LG Polymers issue.

Apart from agriculture, Kanna Babu might also be given the additional portfolio of Excise and Prohibition, which was till recently handled by Mopidevi Venkataramana.

The curious point is who will be the two MLAs who would replace Mopidevi and Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose, who have now been moved to Delhi as Rajya Sabha members. The suspense will continue for some more time.
