After losing Nandyal by-election badly, YS Jagan has changed his words. In a major volte-face, Jagan, who earlier called Nandyal by-poll as referendum for TDP’s ruling, has now stated that it is not a referendum.
When asked about whether Nandyal by-poll result is a referendum of TDP’s 3-year ruling, Jagan denied and said, “How it will be a referendum? How one segment can be a referendum? How this can reflect the mood of people?”
In fact, Jagan has thrown a fresh challenge to Chandrababu Naidu. “I challenge Chandrababu Naidu to contest polls in all the 20 constituencies of YSRCP MLAs who joined TDP. Then I’ll accept it as a referendum. I’ll see whether TDP would spend Rs 4000 Crore for 20 constituencies. TDP has spent Rs 200 Crore in Nandyal alone. With police support and threatening people, TDP won in Nandyal. I’ll see whether Chandrababu would do the same in 20 constituencies or not,” said emotional Jagan. Jagan kept saying that people voted for TDP due to their lures.
Jagan went onto state that Chandrababu has “cheated” people and “threatened” people and won the Nandyal election. “If Chandrababu takes Nandyal result as his victory, there would be no bigger fool than him.”
Naturally, people of Nandyal are disappointed with Jagan’s insulting comments on them and his ‘disrespectful’ comments on CM Chandrababu Naidu.
