If YSRCP sources are to be believed, the current cabinet of YS Jagan will put in its papers on March 27. CM YS Jagan will then reconstitute his council of ministers taking various aspects such as regional, religious and caste combinations into account. The new cabinet will be a mix of talent, experience and party loyalty, said sources.
Meanwhile, four ministers from the present cabinet would remain ministers in the next council of ministers also. All others would be replaced, sources said. The four ministers, who would be continued, include Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy, Buggana Rajendranath, Kodali Nani and Botsa Satyanarayana.
As per the law, Jagan can have a council of 26 ministers including himself. This means 21 new ministers would be sworn in. Jagan has already indicated that those ministers, who would lose their ministries, would be entrusted with key party responsibilities. They would be appointed regional coordinators, according to sources.
Sources say that one person who is sure to become a minister is the wife of Mekapati Goutham Reddy. Reddy passed away recently due to cardiac failure. Jagan has reportedly decided to make her the minister. Sources say that the YSRCP leadership has already spoken to former MP and Gautham Reddy’s father Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy in this regard.
