Further proving that the Telugu film industry is split into groups, Nandamuri Balakrishna warned that breaking the unity doesn’t augur well for the industry.
He opened up on the meeting between Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and Tollywood representatives. Responding positively to the industry’s requests, CM Jagan had assured them all the support would be given.
It was said that Balakrishna had turned down the invitation to attend this meeting citing the reason for his 60th birthday celebrations. But Balakrishna alleges that the government was given an appointment to one person (Chiranjeevi) and had asked him to bring some others along with him. Then how would I attend the meeting when you give an appointment to one person, Balakrishna questioned.
Furthermore, he said that even before expressing his opinion, they had announced that Balakrishna would not be attending the meeting.
“I was deeply hurt when the government gave an appointment to the only one person. Even then, I told them I will inform my decision after giving a thought to it. But before I made up my mind, they had announced that I will not be attending. This was done without intimating me. That statement was not mine. But they made it as if I made as such,” Balakrishna explained in detail what had happened.
If any truth holds in this statement, one can draw to the conclusion that the gap between Balakrishna and Chiranjeevi has widened further.
Balakrishna also slammed the industry’s persons talking about caste equations and grouping accordingly. I will not tolerate if someone tries to steal the credit (Chiranjeevi), he said.
He also pointed out that it was he who applied for land to build a studio in Vizag much before anyone in the Telugu film industry had thought of.
