Jallikattu Trouble For Suriya?

As Jallikattu protesters in Tamil Nadu are in no mood to stop the protests despite its state government’s ordinance to promulgate the bull taming sport and seeking lift of permanent ban on the sport, the situation is said to be out of control.

The peaceful protest is taking a violent route and several incidents of police vs protesters being reported, the producers of Suriya’s Singam 3 are in dilemma over releasing the film on Jan 26th as per the plan.

With people are in tumultuous mood, Suriya and producer Gnanavel Raja are toying with the idea of postponing the film. Already the film has been postponed twice. Initially it was supposed to hit the screens on Dec 16, but was shifted to Dec 23 in order to leave 2 weeks space for Ram Charan’s Dhruva (Dec 9) in Telugu.

Due to political turmoil following demise of its CM Jayalalithaa and cyclone Vardah and prevailing conditions in the state, S3 has been postponed to Jan 26th. But going by latest situation in Chennai, it’s unlikely that Suriya would go ahead with the release of his film.

If it happens, then the movie will also be postponed in Telugu. Already Venkatesh’s Guru which is supposed to hit theatres on Jan 25th is postponed to April. If S3 too is deferred, there would be no big releases this week. And this in turn may help ongoing festival releases Gautamiputra Satakarni, Khaidi No.150 & Satamanam Bhavati.
