Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan made a key announcement on Saturday. The actor turned politician said that it was extremely painful to see farmers and tenant farmers commit suicide due to crop losses and debt burden in Andhra Pradesh.
Pawan Kalyan said that nearly 3,000 farmers had died since the ruling YSRCP government came to power. “According to official estimates, there are 16 lakh tenant farmers in the state. Unofficially, it is said that there are about 45 lakh tenant farmers. In Godavari districts alone, more than 80 farmers have committed suicide. Looking at these conditions, one can understand how miserable the situation of those who believe in cultivation is. During Ugadi, the families should not be saddened. Janasena has decided to provide financial assistance with the intention of giving them some relief,” PSPK said.
Pawan Kalyan announced that Janasena Party would provide financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh to the families of deceased tenant farmers. He said that financial assistance was being provided to provide some support for the education and other needs of the children in the farmer families. He said he would visit every family soon. He informed the process of providing financial assistance would also begin.
