The Indian Railways has cancelled all the trains on Sunday keeping in view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call of ‘Janata Curfew.’ All the trains (approximately 2,400 services) will not run from March 22nd 4 AM to 10 PM, said the Indian Railways in a statement.
For passengers who have planned to travel on March 22nd, the railways has made special arrangements. Along with trains, the Railways has ordered for shut down of canteens until further notice. The Indian Railway Catering and Toursim Corporation (IRCTC) has ordered closure of all onboard catering services.
Food Plazas, refreshment centres in railway stations are also asked to close down. The only respite for people who travel daily in train is the suburban train express will run but their number will be drastically reduced in respective states. Also the railways has allowed to sell only tea and coffee for passengers as there is a demand of onboard services.
