‘Jersey’ is one of the most memorable films in recent times. Natural star Nani’s impeccable performance as a father who has unlimited love for his son and the game of cricket has touched everyone. This emotional drama won a lot of accolades and was a commercial success too. There are some scenes which make you tear up even now and it can be considered as a classic film without almost no flaws. Directed by Gautham Thinnauri, ‘Jersey’ is a wonderful movie and that is the reason why Bollywood star hero Shahid Kapoor decided to remake it.
After ‘Kabir Singh’, Shahid decided to remake this movie and it was named ‘Jersey’ in Hindi too. Gautham who directed the original took the responsibility for the Hindi version too and the movie was supposed to release during Christmas. But the film got postponed due to the sudden spike in Corona cases. Mrunal Thakur played the female lead in Hindi and the trailer along with songs generated a positive buzz over the movie. Sources say that the film is getting ready to hit the screens once again.
The latest we hear is that the makers are planning to release the Hindi version of ‘Jersey’ in Telugu too. Apparently, they are looking to dub the film in Telugu which is being considered useless by many. It is a remake of the Telugu film and getting dubbed in the original’s language once again is making everyone scratch their heads. A few are countering this argument by claiming that OTT platforms like ‘Aha’ can buy the dubbed version and stream it. Let us see what happens.
