US President Joe Biden has announced the good news to Indian IT professionals. The Biden administration has issued orders delaying the implementation of a previous regulation on H-1B visas, drastically raising the minimum wage for foreign professionals working in the United States.
The Department of Labor said in a federal notification on Friday that it was suspending its implementation until May 14. They said their decision would protect the wage benefits of some temporary, permanent employees in the United States.
There will be huge benefit to Indian IT professionals. It said it was considering whether to further delay the current deadline, which is currently in effect up to May 14.
It would receive public opinion before extending it. However, Biden’s latest decision was strongly opposed by the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR).
