It is known that South siren Samantha Akkineni has teamed up with director Gunasekhar for the magnum opus ‘Shakunthalam’.
Now, the latest update is that actor Kabir Duhan Singh, who is known for playing a nefarious villain, will appear as King Asura in the big-budget periodic drama.
In a recent interaction, Kabir revealed some interesting facts about his role in the Gunasekhar directorial. Claiming that this film is a landmark project in his career, the actor said that he had to shoot for a war sequence wearing real armour.
“Mythology is, however, one of my favourite genres. So, I thoroughly enjoyed working on the dialogues, gestures, expressions, and my body language,” he added.
Based on Shakuntala by Kalidasa, the film features Samantha in the titular role of Shakuntala and Dev Mohan as Dushyanta, along with Allu Arha, Mohan Babu, Sachin Khedekar, Gautami, Aditi Balan and Ananya Nagalla in supporting roles. Shakunthalam is produced by Neelima Guna and Dil Raju under the banner of Gunaa Teamworks and Dil Raju Productions, respectively.
